I am a neighbor now in a strange land, a refugee now in my own home. I have been forced to leave everything behind, no longer can call my own.

I am lost and alone, adrift in a sea of strangers. I do not know where I belong, Or what will atone.

I am a displaced person, A victim of politics and violence. I am a human being, Just like you.

I deserve to be safe, I deserve to be happy, I deserve to have a home.

Somewhere in between there is hope.
